At this very moment as any other,
The time of my life steadily ticks toward “death.”
This fact constantly lurks behind me
As an unescapable and inevitable fact.
Despite this, the distance between me and “death”
Grew further apart without my noticing.
Where did the realistic “death” I used to feel as a child go,
Bundled up in futon bedding before I fell asleep at night?
At that time, death was very much right beside me.
And that uncertain feeling of being abandoned
Once again arose within me when I encountered
My beloved “grandmother’s death.”
―
A sense of uncertainty toward:
The fact that people die,
People who have left this world.
The fact that people are born,
And are alive,
Loving,
And being loved.
